GOSPEL PASS 200 (+YM150 +H100) +IMPERIAL 100

With the GP200 fresh in our memories, I would like to declare 9 Jun 18 for next year’s repeat.

But on that thought, what did riders this year think of the 2017 event on 3rd Jun?

Pandy booked! Wonderful Team and better local support discussed for next year.
Meal pre-payment on entry. NB, I did refund DNS food element this year where ‘notified (2 days please) in advance’.
Norton VH vs Apperley VH (my preference is for Norton as Wainlode Hill a great finale)
Routes- No intention to change.
Introduce a 4th event ‘YatMon Century’ based on Imperial 100 mile by a short (flattish and avoiding Wainlode Hill) extension to finish via the A38 and Combe Hill self-Control. Becomes 100.7miles!! Or scrap the YM150 and concentrate on the Imperial?

I did the YatMon and it was fab.  The control and grub at Pandy was superb   Really appreciated the banananana & energy bar to stuff in the pockets for up the road.  Grub and a cuppa at arrivée was very welcome too.

I have no preference for next year regarding the century, if it is there and I'm riding I'll likely take that option.  I'm the one who nipped outside to get the extra few km on the A38 yesterday.
2023 targets: Survive. Maybe.

It may be early to think of the Jun long days and heat-wave….. But just to confirm that there will be 3 events; the middle YatMon has been extended to 162km i.e. an Imperial 100 miles. It makes the route easier as it avoids the stinging Wainlodes Hill for a softer route using the A38!

Will you accept the Cheltenham CTC Double Century Challenge? Ride the CHARACTER COLN 100(km) on 17 March and the YATMON160 (Imperial 100) on 9 Jun.

As the longest day approaches, so most events up to 200km can be achieved in daylight, even by the ‘Full Value’ AUK. This is useful for the Gospel Pass 200, with 3AAA points and routed over iconic borders country.

You should note that your entry includes food breaks at Pandy Village Hall, twice for the 200km and once for the 160km (Imperial 100m). If circumstances suggest you might DNS, I will refund the food element of your entry if notified by Thurs before the event. Any surplus cash from food will be donated to a Pandy Village charity.

I have ridden the ‘new’ YatMon Century; super feeling to complete the iconic British distance. Plan to do all routes as Org rides before 9 Jun to confirm Controls and road Q.

But where are the entries? Great local support organised in Pandy for that classic circuit of the Gospel Pass. Now just 3: 200, 160km (Imp 100m), 100.

Rode the Gospel Pass 200 yesterday. Was a great, challenging route with a memorable crossing of the pass plus descents to Monmouth and Hay.

The control at Pandy was great - lots of food choices with swift, cheerful service. Much appreciated Steve and team  :)
