After managing to loose my old 600 six months ago I'll definitely take a look at these when they become available.

The question is whether they will work with Garmin Connect as that functionality was disabled about a year ago. Very annoying.

The report says it will but who knows...

The question is whether they will still work by any means other than Garmin Connect.

They disabled support for the Garmin Basecamp Mobile app.
The Garmin Connect Mobile app is supposed to be the replacement. But it does different stuff. And I'm not sure what devices are actually supported.

Yes, I got the name wrong. Basecamp used to work between my phone and Oregon, then it stopped. My Oregon is no longer supported by Basecamp or by Garmin Connect.

It was actually a very small window of about a couple of months when it did work, and it was a trifle unreliable, but it is annoying that I always have to plug my Garmin into a computer when I want to get my tracks off it.
