hellymedic was right.

Finally went to the doctors this morning and she actually mentioned it.  I have an infection.  Been given antibiotics and will see what happens and been told to stop shaving.

Let's hope the antibiotics are helpful.
The Nasty Bug™ that causes this trouble is usually a strain of Staphyllococcus Aureus.
Keep away from people with burns or surgical wounds.

Go to Australia, the sunshine cured my acne for good. Might have been my age too.

Are you on any other medication?

When I started taking methotraxate (immunosuppressant, for arthritis) I got quite a few spots on my face. After a while they disappeared.

wowbagger - Yes I am and thats sort what I hoped but doctors disagrees.

Helly - Sorry for doubting you, but I didn't want to trouble the doctor as I don't want to be a hypocondriac.

I was going to suggest sunshine. Also - use your own towel or face flannel, wash your face with hot water before shaving and rinse flannel regularly and change flannel regularly - everyday if poss.

This is not acne; it's sycosis barbae.
Do not shave.
Do not reuse flannels and towels.

Have another days worth of tablets and still getting a few white heads.  But things aren't looking as angry.

Ran clippers over my head and face as I was looking like a tramp and was followed round a shop by the security guard.

Should it clear up soon after the pills have been taken or do I need to see the doctor for another set.

The spots aren't all cleared up but no more meds to take,   what to do?

Go back to doc when convenient.

These spots aren't life-threatening to you but the bugs in them could cause problems for others.

pills didn't do me much good either. Sunshine did though.

Don't think that this is a sun thing, I think its an infection thing.

To top it all, have a chest infection too.  Things can only get better.
