Shingles
« on: 31 October, 2016, 05:05:31 pm »
I developed shingles towards the end of August and the GP prescribed a course of anti-virals.  Eventually the symptons abated and the rash was all but faded.  However a few days ago the area that had the worst rash erupted again, not badly but with noticable red spots and really annoying itching.  No pain, thank goodness, or any of the other awful aspects of the virus.  The other areas are showing no signs.

Is this common?  Do I need to go back to GP?  There seems to be no mention on the health websites about a reoccurance of this nature.

Thanks

I think if in doubt, get it checked out. Shingles can reoccur.

Other option is ask for a private 1:1 with a pharmacist and get them to look if it's suitable as they might know if it's shingles or GPworthy, but tbh I'd go back to GP ASAP!
