Treating Stage 2B Cervical Cancer
« on: 04 May, 2011, 09:54:37 am »
A good friend starts chemo and radiotherapy next week for Stage 2B Cervical Cancer.

I don’t know much about this, and feel awkward asking such a blunt question, but what are the ‘success’ rates like for such treatment to this stage of cervical cancer?

I am not a gynaecologist!
My understanding of cervical cancer is that it tends to be localised to the pelvis for a relatively long time and early stages  (I & II) have a goood chance of successful treatment. In contrast, breast cancer can have spread to distant sites before it is detected and diagnosed.
Hope all goes well for your friend.
