Erm, that's it really! Hoping to do a 200k BRM later in the year. Could I claim one of the swanky ACP medals, or would I just get a AUK one?
Thank you!
-
Yes, you can.
IIRC, you don't buy the medal directly from ACP, but as part of an AUK batch order at the end of the season. Not sure who you speak to place your order though.
-
Brilliant, thanks for the reply! Does anyone else know what to do?
-
From memory I ordered mine from
Chris Crossland last year- but you may have to wait till post October now.
-
Go to the AUK website, then 'contact us' and you'll find a drop down list of various contacts in the contact form including 'International Correspondent - Questions about ACP (PBP) and Randonneurs Mondiaux.' I think this is the one to use.
-
how do I know if the rides I did were BR or BRM? it doesn't appear on the rides list or the event record.
-
In your rides list a BRM will (unless its very recent) have a number in the first 'ACP Brevet' column. That number would probably have to be quoted when applying for an ACP medal.
Or you can do a backward listing on the AUK Calendar page, goes back for over a year.
-
Thanks. So I can see that only my LWL has been registered with ACP, none of the 200s or the 300. So towards the end of the year I should contact the relent person in order to buy?
-
Correct. It may take a little while though.

It does show up on the calendar page. If you've kept your brevet cards, anything that's BRM will have a sticker on the back with an ACP badge and number - nothing that's been instantly validated will have this.
But as FF says, once they've been validated, the BRM rides will be obvious on your online record.

Yes it's obvious now that LWL has an ACP no. At the time none of my rides were showing an ACP number which made it less obvious.

Does this also apply to SR medal?
Can longer distances be substituted for ACP?
As their year starts in November I assume an October 200 BRM would still fall into this season?
(I have BRMs at 400 and 600, have entered a 1000 but am wondering if it's worth choosing a 200 or 300 between now and end of October on whether it is BRM or not)
-
Longer distances cannot be substituted for shorter for an ACP SR (in 2015, 2x300, 400, 600 got me a PBP entry but not an SR medal), but AFAIK you're right, it's rides within the ACP season (01/11-31/10) that count, not the AUK season (01/10-30/09).
