Route advice - Balham to London Bridge
« on: 11 October, 2010, 12:06:31 pm »
A friend wants to start riding to London Bridge from Balham (Cavendish Road).

Any advice? I don't go that way, so am not sure what to advise. Regular cyclist, but never ridden in London before...

CS7.  Straight through.  Stockwell is daft, Oval a bit less dangerous than it used to be.  Just keep on through E&C & up Borough High St.  Not a difficult route.  Quite a bit of bus lane.

It will probably be a bit of a shock, but there will be a lot of other cyclists about.  Holding the line is important.

Maybe they could ride in with me one time, and I can show them the issues and how to get round them.

That's a nice suggestion. It won't be a for a while now and I might suggest he holds off until work is completed at E&C - however, it'll largely be down to him!

Actually, the Walworth Road RAB is officially no more!  The new junction is open today. :o

Still some work to be done, and it looks a bit confusing to start with, but I'll give it a few days...
