It's all Thatcher's fault!

That's not a meme; it's just true ;D

Definitely!  Four times on my commute this morning I had pedestrians look right at me then step out onto the road in front of me.
Damn you, Thatcher! *shakes fist in a threatening manner*

Well, one could argue that the destruction of co-operation and the placing of the primacy of individual greed in the market place as the accepted and principal mode of social interaction is associated with monetarism. ;)
Getting there...

I just tried to invent some new Phrases, with a view to generating a YACF original meme:

Cock-Hobbit - It's out there already.  Damn, let's get childish..

Spung-Bungler.

I can't believe it, there's a bloody definition for it on the web.

So, my last chance... "Hummerfied" (I thought this could be the act of being Hummered (covers a wide range of acts))

Nope, I was beaten to it, and I kid thee not....

Addictionary :: HUMMERFIED
noun, The emotion experienced when witnessing a major player in the battle against gay rights coming out as gay

I picked up the 'chain's a bit slack' meme from uk.rec.cycling (along with marmite and kitchen pr0n) ages before I discovered YACF.

I'm disappointed - I captioned a picture of my new bike once with the words, "here's a picture of my kitchen" and I thought I was being original. Then again, it was a bloody long time ago, so maybe I was.

Thinking about it, the "chain" and "kitchen" memes you mention seem a bit visual for urc?

Oh that and "It's mostly downhill from here", which will probably only make sense to those in the North :)

I'm pleased to know I've contributed.

My coinage of 'Fraudax' made it out into the CTC mag, but I don't think it got much further.

I am grateful to Andy Gates and Mayor Larrington for bringing us prose so richly laid with neologisms, although I have to resort to Google Translate (From: Gates To: English) to decode much of what is said.

I use fraudax; describes my fixed commute bike perfectly.

Surely there is more of an unhealthy obession with sporks here than on any other forum?

Chutney is probably a YACF Meme, if people would only use it more.  Still, with Autumn just around the corner, the roads and paths will soon be covered in the stuff. :-\
Actually, it is rocket science.

To be honest, the word "meme" went from being a challenging concept to a cliché so quickly that I dislike the very word intensely.   It's used as shorthand for all kinds of concepts that people can't be bothered to discuss properly.
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked: Allen Ginsberg
The best minds of my generation are thinking about how to make people click ads: Jeff Hammerbacher

I didn't think a meme was a challenging concept.

It's a memory gene isn't it, a uint of memory that is passed around and down through generations?
It is simpler than it looks.
