I've got some weird symptoms which I'd appreciate any insight into pleaseā€¦ I cycled up to Peterhead on Saturday, which took me 2hr 45mins approx for the c.75km, I ran Strava and RidewithGPS on my Quechua Mountain Phone 5.0 and simultaneously recorded the ride in my eTrex 30. I was expecting the strava and ridewithgps results to be pretty much the same as they are on the same phone with a little difference to the eTrex.

http://www.strava.com/activities/171261491 (contains the eTrex 30 GPX as this was pretty much identical to the Strava App)

What actually happened was that RidewithGPS showed multiple gaps, a total ride time of 2hrs 8mins with an average 34.5kph (!), while Strava and eTrex 30 showed the full 2hrs 41mins moving time and an average speed of 28kph.

If it was not for the Live tracking facility on RidewithGPS I would be actively considering cancelling my subscription, particularly as the power consumption is more or less identical between the two apps. So, I'm hoping that there are some helpful tips out there to maybe change a setting to avoid this problem of missing data points.

11Aug14> Update: I'd submitted a support request to RidewithGPS asking for help on 22nd July 2014, still no reply or confirmation that they have read the problem. I was out over the weekend - and again the app recorded the track incorrectly with a gap of 20km between some points, however the rest of the track was fine. Very odd - and not suitable as a backup for any DIY by GPS rides unlike (say) Strava.
