Interesting. The screw propulsion system is currently used on quite a few Ant/Arctic vehicles.
Every snowmobile around here has some kind of belt drive, I was thinking how quaint the screw system looked. Would the screw system offer better flotation in deep snow, less likelihood of going brittle and failing in extreme temperatures, or both?
I think that it would be better than belt in all respects except one; speed.
Snowmobiles can be very very fast, this thing isn't going to be.
I reckon it might work well on mud. The farmers round here are having to use tractors with caterpillar tracks
