In Another Place is a chap who has just returned, following a couple of years of bureaucracy-induced poverty. His lack of pension meant he couldn't afford phones/internet.
He was born in Britain during WWII, his father was killed by a bomb and his mother has unsurprisingly since died.
Having worked and paid NI for a working lifetime his lack of a birth certificate became an issue.
