Forecast is looking quite benign for this evening now. Dry and a wind strength about the same as last Saturday.

BBC weather is still forecasting 40+mph here in Mid-Essex.  Thus I shall not be venturing out plus I'm doing Cottage Pie for tea which can't be rushed as its my favourite  :smug:

Hard as nails👍. Is it Midsommer Murders or Miss Marple for you tonight?

Broxted to far far for me in current state I'm afraid, looks like I'll do without my Ribs and go on the Turbo.

Not around for the next 2 weeks.

I thought the main plan for the main peloton was still to go to the hurdlemakers - this is just a NW splinter group.
If it helps reinforce jibbers' turbo date, I won't be venturing out in to the skirts of storm Dudley this evening (I had enough character building top-up last week returning from the Hurdlemakers).

Your recruitment campaign is going well. You must be a proud founder member.

I am. There's no chance of membership for you, you're not hard enough.

Both are way too violent!

You should bear in mind that Call the Midwife is my favourite show on the telly (*) and on Saturday 18th June I have booked myself and The Current Mrs R on the CtM tour at Chatham Dockyard   So I won't be available for any audaxing on that date  ;D

(*) I hide behind a cushion during the gory bits  :o

Excellent. I don't blame you OD, 8K telly's are great, but that's the last thing you want to see (or hear) in HD.

I know, I keep going out on my bike, which must ruin my chances of joining.

Hmmm ... might give tomorrow a miss, unless a nearer venue than the Hurdlemakers appears. Another named storm, still feeling a bit sinus-y and with a full day of gardening to do first - I'd like to save myself for the weekend's shenanigans.

I was at the hurdlemakers last week so happy to aim for a north westerly venue - POW at Broxted?

Sorry to miss such a NW venue - only just leaving work now; and haven't seen any updates all day. Just logged in out of curiosity to see if anyone was daft enough to go out. Having a full nightmare week, so couldn't have made anywhere but hope to catch up on Saturday...

Sorry - got involved in DIY and the time has vanished, mean't to say earlier that I'm not out after all.

I'm wondering if the emblem of The Hard as Nails Club could be a winged Cottage Pie being held aloft by Call the Midwife cast members?

Being Mid Essex - should be a nicely painted false nail with a bit of overspray of fake tan.

Early bid for The Cricketers in Danbury this week. (Except those who haven't made it to the Hurdlemakers yet...)
You can’t just call time out and stroll on into the beach if you don’t like the way things are goin’.
