So ... Hurdlemakers, Woodham Mortimer or Cross Keys White Notley? Somewhere a bit further west would be more Nick/Owen friendly - Viper, Mill Green or Rose and Crown, Gt Waltham?

A vote for the Viper as I haven't been there since it reopened...

I won't be out because I'll be getting back late from That London.

Viper then? Any takers? I won't be out early, wherever we go, so 21:00 arrival, probably.

 To the Viper, excellent! And I've got an easy day tomorrow, just a bit of art-therapy volunteering at Redbond Lodge (old folks home) in the morning, for someone I know who works there.

I may drive or I may not come - feeling a little useless!
You can’t just call time out and stroll on into the beach if you don’t like the way things are goin’.

Sorry you didn't feel up to it - you missed an epic wet and lightning-illuminated ride! If you'd driven to the Viper, you wouldn't have been the only hardened long-distance cyclist who did ...  ;)

The place was fairly busy, a third to half full maybe - pretty good considering the weather.

Hmmm, not sure as it'll be getting quite gusty on the return home (30 mph). Don't fancy that really. Will see what my imaginary brother is doing...

A few km from home and my bottom bracket/crank has started making some very alarming creaking noises  :( I did think to just turn my music up and carry on to the Compasses, but on balance I think I’m better off going home and investigating indoors with a cuppa. See you next time.

Who is out on Wednesday? A reasonable weather forecast!

I've a busy day on Thursday so perhaps a western venue for me? Any others about that way?

I’m unlikely to be out due to an injury picked up yesterday

I hope to be out on Wednesday - and being Mid Essex - happy to travel anywhere (within reason and physically possible)

I’m most likely not out on account of cultivating a first experience of shingles and discovering that it’s a little uncomfortable.
