Modulating CH pumps

Anyone out there able to provide advice on whether use of  modern semi intelligent CH  pump variable cp setting is OK (or not) for a fully pumped vented system with TRVs and Auto bypass
valve? lots of contradictory advice out there,  e.g Some  LOTS strongly say not to be used (this means running pump at standard speed setting all the time) but.....

AIUI use of variable settings where applicable is quieter and more energy efficient as the pump automatically adjusts to TRVs opening, closing and heating cycles ending etc. However I do not wish to knacker the boiler. (Vaillant eco pro).

I put a Grundfos alpha 2 from ebay on my little manifold system (9 radiators with TRVs').

It runs on auto adapt, which is the default setting, it seems to work just fine.

I have it on the return and it works with the pump on the boiler, which I turned down, as it was making a lot of noise.
