« on: 10 August, 2022, 10:04:13 am »
I'm taking apollo for a weekend camp at white mark Farm. I have spoken with the campsite and if anyone wants to join us if you put yacf on the booking form then they will pitch us as a group 🙂

Well done for being the one who actually organises something.  I'll be there if I can, though I have a feeling I already have something else on that weekend.

Too many unknowns at the moment to commit.  Life's like that, eh?

Unfortunately, I shall be camping at Sandringham that weekend (which also happens to be my birthday weekend).  Hope you have a great time!

As in Watlington Norfolk? I'll be away the weekends either side so wouldn't camp, but could certainly put it on my weekend ride route to meet folks.

A distant possible due to lots of domestics going on atm. If I can I will.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make this one, the after effects of PMR and Covid have left me with an inability to get up off the ground. At York I had considerable difficulty in getting in and out of the tent. Unless the exercises I have been given yield and improvement my cycle camping days may be at an end.

I'd love to join you but sadly I'm catsitting for my brother. Sounds like a dreadful excuse but hey Ho, cat is 19 and on his last legs. I'm really looking forward to some cycle touring again soon. Maybe later this year?

We may be up for it, although possibly without bikes. We have a tow bar for a bike rack but don't yet have a rack.

I won't be able to make this, as I'm having a picnic in a graveyard (!) that Saturday, followed by a visit to archaeological dig. Which I think is next to rather than in the graveyard...

Hugs n kisses to all attending (or solemn handshakes, as you prefer).

For info, we used to live in Watlington and since we left there’s a really good cycling friendly pub opened/re-opened just down from the camp site on Hill Road. It used to be The Carriers. I’ve stopped there for refreshments on a recent 200

Not into camping, but this is our stomping ground for walking and cycling. Could join you for a ride if that's a possibility?

I believe Butterfly investigated it at the recent ALC meet, and concluded that it's good for Tragic Hipster Coffee™ or pizza, but a bit disappointing if you're wanting non-pizza food.  I was impressed by what they've done with the outdoor seating area when I rode past.

John of Romford
Sounds like a character from a medieval document.
