we had a work conference in shanghai about a week ago, but I had a day off to go sightseeing.  Amazing place, completely overwhelmed by free market capitalism. 

My take on the the Charles Ebbets photo of the workmen building the Rockefeller center:

(they were at about 450 meters up, floor 97/100)

I got up early one morning and saw the cafes making up noodles:


and a four horsepower bicycle!
