How else am I going to keep up with him in a couple of years time?  Not something Wendy needs to worry about  

Actually I relented and showed CC the elder the video.

There was a thoughtful silence from the Cub (who is currently developing into a natural ss rider and claims that he 'likes gear 4 for up and down').  And on the ride home today he actually changed down on a hill.  Once.  So even your boy's youtube vids are educational Wendy

LOL, thanks!  He's still a bit reluctant to change his gears because he's not used to riding on the hoods yet.  He likes the suicide cyclocross brake levers.  I think a bit more practice in the park is needed, not just for gears but also for starting off properly.

LOL @ Clarion!  I do have a fixed wheel.  Just don't ride it that much outside the winter.
