As part of the SEEKRIT PROJEKT I am replacing the Brompton cranks with Sugino XD.

TA 110 BCD outer 58-61t  :: £46.00 :: PARTS & ACCESSORIES :: Components - Gears - Chainrings - TA :: Spa Cycles, Harrogate - The touring cyclists specialist.

Muhahahahahahaha! (actually, where can I get a cheap s/h one?)

Mind the folded clearance, it restricts the chainring to the high 50s.  Look for old Brompton posts by Dave Holladay.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

Apparently 60T is OK.

Thanks to MV, my Brommie currently has a 54t chainring. Well suited to racing.  :thumbsup:

I'll remove the mudguards and fit slick tyres, and probably swap the B17 for a lighter saddle, but that's about as much "modification" as I'll do.

Clipless pedals (borrow them from another bike) and a suspension lockout (two jubilee clips) really help, and don't really cost anything.

Roggerzilla. Do you remember your time last year that got you the 96th place?

I've just ridden my Brommie over 8.7 miles/14km in 39 minute = 13mph/20km. I will hopefully beat this time when I start training and get some cleats. I just wanna know what time is needed for top 50.

The times are all published on the Brompton website.  Beware of comparisons: I did a "10" in 26:14 last year but it took longer than that for the 8.3 miles of the course.  There is a BIG HILL.

Anyone bought the cheap Merino jersey yet?

There is a strategically placed St John Ambulance at the crest, with oxygen.

Hopefully this link should answer all your questions regarding the HILL !

I will hopefully be riding the TT ( 3 laps )  which precedes the BWC and then watching my Father in Law competing in his third World Championship.

I will of course be wearing my YACF KOTM shirt  ;D

Sadly we can't wear YACF jerseys for the BWC.  I shall be outfitted in tweed  :smug:

I've got a crappy old suit that I'll wear. Can anyone here embroider yacf.co.uk and some other stuff on the back of the jacket for me? Hells Angels style. :demon: ;)

I'm not sure yet what I'll be wearing. I have a nice grey pinstripe jacket that's quite light, so that might do. Maybe with a shirt and a bow tie. The question really is what to wear on the bottom half. I have some smart-ish black shorts but they won't really go with the jacket.
