I've got designs on an old tweed jacket too.

You know what. If the weather turns out foul again this year I'll do it on my Brompton too.

[edit] it's the raw lacquered steel finish - is that what you went for in the end?

Mine's in a bit of a sorry state in the shed at the moment - needs a good service. I only really use it in the winter months now when I bus/bike to work, although if it was in a fit state I'd definitely be using it to zip down the shops, into town, round a mate's etc. It has been usurped in the general use category by my touring bike for now (plus I robbed the Brooks off it for said tourer). Your talk of a brand new one has got me in the mood for restoring it to it's original and glorious condition!

That's as maybe, but at least neither of us wears knickers under our cycling shorts and has to get permission from Mummy to go as far as Dunwich.

[/more fighting talk]
I can honestly say I have never worn anything under my cycling shorts apart from Sudocrem and boil treatment.

I'll be dancing up Church Hill in Finchingfield when you and Liz are pushing that five-bar gate with wheels.

Pith helmet? I'm wearing the pith helmet. Andy - you got one too? I thought you were opting for a pickelhaube.

That's tough about the bike, I'd be feeling like murder right now if it was me. Hope all works out...

It has arrived!

At head office.

Near my house!

But it needs building.  By them.  For warranty reasons.

So they're whipping it to town first thing to assemble for me!

Crikey, I had to resort to magic to summon this one.  It's going to be a frantic lunchtime fettle...  where do bottle cages go best on Brommies?  Rear of handlebar stem with a couple of jubilees?
