Title: Pedal the Parks
Post by: thisisgrace on 12 April, 2019, 10:09:34 am
Thought I'd just share a quick message about my friend, Lorna Fisher, who is beginning her bike ride around all the UK's National Parks tomorrow from Aviemore in the Ciarngorms NP.

She's raising awareness of the Year of Green Action campaign which challenges people to live more sustainably. She's also raising funds for a new charity called the Peak District Foundation which aims to improve access to the PDNP for those less able to do so.

The ride is about 1650 miles/2500km so if you spot her out on the roads near you, give her a few words of encouragement.

If you're interested to find out more, there is some more info here: https://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/donate/our-fundraising-heroes/pedalling-the-parks (https://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/donate/our-fundraising-heroes/pedalling-the-parks).

This is a lovely idea. (Hopefully Aviemore will be above freezing when she starts! )

Nice to see someone doing a ride that goes to nice places, instead of cities/tourist-traps that are usually awful to ride in. Plus cycling is actually something that normal people do in the National parks.
