Plotting route on Open Street Maps
« on: 06 November, 2011, 04:18:06 pm »
Is it possible to plan and plot a route on Open Street Map either in UK or Europe? I can use Bike HIke for example but can't include cycle paths. Thanks.

Bikehike should work. You have to click on "Options" then set the routing algorithm to OpenStreetMap, and set the travel mode to cycling. Then it should route along cyclepaths.
Or Bike Route Toaster can do a similar thing.
Both of these use Cloudmade routing.

Or you could try Cyclestreets. It can give interesting routes for cycling, including quietest or fastest options. http://www.cyclestreets.net/

Many thanks. I forgot about OSM with Bike Hike! Did not manage to plot a route manually on Cloudmade or Openroute service sites but no doubt there is a way.

Hi

Another possible option is http://RidewithGPS.com which gives you Google and OSM (I believe) options in the one tool.
