I've been catching up on my magazine reading today and one of them was a Cycle Sport mag.  In it they featured Chad Gerlach.

He was around at the same time as a young Lance Armstrong but his life took a different path.  Until a year ago he was begging outside supermarkets in the US to get enough money for his next hit of crack.  I found the article very interesting.  I have posted the link to cycling news in case you do too.

It would appear the team in Italy really supports riders that are going through hard times too, many of whom have an addiction.  The director sportif or team manager has fought a long battle against drugs in the sport it also said.
