What trowel?
« on: 09 May, 2016, 06:59:14 pm »
...for shitting in the woods?
Would be handy to have a trowel for bivvying, bothying, wild camping.

Something lightweight, maybe folding, easy to slip into a bag, but actually works for digging a hole.

There's some fairly cheap plastic versions, are they strong enough and sharp enough for hard ground?
Or various aluminium folding trowels, some rather expensive, are they worth it?
Any recommendations?

Perhaps something combined with cutlery?

I use the coughlans trowel linked above. Nice and light, and seems to do the trick. at 2.5 in cotswolds, it's hard to find a better value option.

I have a cheap folding trowel that I used to use, it's great right upto when it folds up because you've put too much pressure on it, then it bloomin' hurts.

Just do it into a plastic bag, and leave same lying around on the surface ...
