Very nice.  There's something about pottering along canals.  Pleasant balance of nature and manmade, or something.

The effect's particularly strong in the Birmingham area, where some of the canals act as a hidden 19th century layer below the modern city's street level.  The route between the Gastric Basin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_Street_Basin) and Spaghetti Junction (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salford_Junction) involves a lot of tedious upping and downing, and the surface can be quite technical in places, but I do recommend it if you've never seen the city from that perspective before.
