Hate U In Drag has written about a "poststratification model", which is fine, but I can't help feeling that word is crying out for a hyphen.

Paycheck, license (noun), mold, all seem to be more common now at least online.

Draw.
You don't keep your socks and knickers in a draw.
Far less in a chester draws.

Yeah. Last time MrsT was on an OU summer school in the UK, about 10 years ago, she came home and declared "they're all Americans".

Went through some roadworks today on the A30 in Darkest Cornwall. Many cones, lots of new dual carriageway being built.  Not many people visible doing stuff. To ensure passing motorists were not unduly aggrieved by the apparent lack of work going on there were signs:

"We're currently working out of site."

I'm calling this a spelling mistake rather than a maths one because it is really a typo (but not a good one) or a proof-reading error.

I was looking at ladders on the B&Q website. One that I was interested in comes in two lengths: 2.5m and 0.39m...

Not to mention erbs.

That's the way my mum pronounced it.  My sister once corrected her and got a hell of a rocket from my dad.

Re orRAYgano, it's actually closer to the original than the English version.

C4's caption writer, who thinks the Alpine F1 team employs enginners, can book his summer holibobs in Reëducation Camp 463.  No charge.

This may, however, explain Alpine's woeful lack of performance in the opening overs of the 2024 season.
