Cadel's off
« on: 02 November, 2009, 08:12:37 pm »
From the BBC website:

"Australian Evans joins BMC Racing

World road race champion Cadel Evans has joined the California-based BMC Racing Team on a three-year contract.

The 32-year-old Australian ended his five-year association with Belgian team Silence Lotto at the weekend.

Evans had been linked with Team Sky, the new multi-million pound British cycling team."

Thank God he's gone to BMC!  :)

Oh, I wonder if that means Charlie Wegalius will get dropped by Silence Lotto then as he was employed specifically to drag Cadel up mountains.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I wonder if the BMC team is good enough.  Evans is one of the finest all-rounders in the sport and someone should be able to build a team around him that can win Grand Tours.  They've got Hincapie and Ballan but somehow that doesn't seem as impressively star-studded as two or three other teams.
