Hah! That's exactly what I want to do! I want a light fast recumbent for long fast rides preferably with minimal chain issues, room for decent width tyres and decent (disc) brakes. It has not been an easy journey.
Ditto here. I find it baffling that for the sake of a few mm of clearance, manufacturers wilfully restrict the usefulness of their designs even in the face of changes in fashion and trends towards fatter tyres in the peloton (which as everyone knows, is the only form of cycling that exists!)
The Troytec and Metabike seem to be exceptions, and now the Schlitter of course, but why things like the Bacchetta CA2 and the M5 CHR are restricted to nominal 25mm without mudguards is beyond me - I cannot believe there's a significant performance difference.
