I can see I'll be spending some time reading and dreaming.

The loads! 20kg of food each. 25l of water each (with capacity to carry 40l). camping gear (minimal) on top of that.

No wonder they had to push up some of the sand dunes. Serious expedition stuff.

That's a seriously pointy-upwards angle on that saddle. I'm surprised you have any balls left.

They do look such fun!

Looks like a nice clean ride Paul ;D

I miss my Nates this time of year. I'm still going through the 5 pairs of floaters I bought on sale last winter

Hold on to them - I read somewhere that they've been discontinued.

Think the camera angle is deceptive but it works for me ;D

I paid £9.99 each so stocked up :o

noticed they've been discontinued, still lack the mud paddle effect of nates though. Not a bad all rounder for less than £10, I can put up with them ;D

If you feel you have too many be happy to take a pair off your hands ;D Great summer tyre but not a patch on Nates in the slop

especially when 120 Nates are £75 and 45nrth are £100 and up :o

Glad they don't wear out too quickly.

The floaters were outgunned last night in the gloop, I had a job to keep the bike upright. Lots of left, right, left, right with a rear wobble on too. I had mammoths on a couple of weeks ago, scary.

Have you tried a mud hugger on the rear yet Paul? they're better than the shovel if you can get one to fit. Mine keeps most of the muck off the chainring area too.

Not yet but I'm tempted. When I had a front dérailleur I used a butchered crud catcher on the seat tube but as that relied on the mech to keep it in place it rubbed when I went single speed so I need a solution.

All those fatbike pics make fatbike riding look a lot of fun!

Pity I can't afford / justify another bike, even a cheap £500 "fatbike" shaped object from an outdoor go supplies retailer...   :(

Save your pennies. The Dune and Wazoo are cheaper fatties and have good reports ( except a couple of people have broken the Dune frames! ) The on one fatty is a brilliant bike to.

Lots of used fat bikes for sale, less than £500 too.

Had a nice poodle up in the Welsh mountains yesterday.

After a soggy climb through the mist, it rained. Luckily I had a bag of wooden kitty litter pellets for my wood burner

Tyre talk there reminds me, on Sunday in Clevedon I saw an On One fatbike with white tyres. They still looked reasonably clean, must have been a Christmas present.

They were probably floaters, the white version of the ones on my bike. I had white tyres on a bike, when I was 3 ;D

You jammy toddler, I didn't have white tyre till I was 5! I do remember being particularly impressed by the white tyres... the bike itself was dark blue.

Mine was an orange 3 wheeler, that's 3, yes 3 white tyres  ;D

I've got a 'very' old photo of me riding it dressed as a cowboy.

40+ years on and I'm still riding and still cowboy :P

Is that a Mudhugger on the back? Any good? Easy fit?

Great thanks. Have fashioned a rear guard on my 29+ Pug using a couple of crud front guards cable tied to the.rear rack but far from ideal. Think its time to invest in something proper.

It's the best I've used yet.
Not very fashionable but it keeps my arse dry.

The fronts are a mud shovel and a fat face fender.

I'll join in. Off road commute yesterday on the Pugsley. Cold in the East. By the time I got home all the mud which had accumulated on the bike was frozen solid!
