I saw that on BBC news earlier - good for him. Were you there at Meadowbank when he crashed and got that "splinter" embedded in his back?

No, I've just heard him talking about it in interviews - sounded scary !

I've seen the scar on Jason's back in the changing room at Manc velodrome. 'Scary' is the word  :o
Working my way up to inferior.

Good for him. The hunger is obviously still there.

I went out for a ride with the ERC boys on Saturday and we ended up at Meadowbank watching the racing until the afternoon and I remember this new guy Jason Queally there. The crash happened on the Sunday when we were on a clubrun. I was on ESCA meeting duty the following week, so I heard all about it. The track meet organiser was extremely worried that he'd sue them, so he visited him in hospital.

When I say "splinter" btw, it's probably more accurate to describe it as an 18" long shard of pine. Meadowbank always had a carpenter on duty to repair the track after a crash.

Yes, I think 'stake' describes it better...
