Pembrokeshire next week
« on: 08 June, 2017, 05:20:09 pm »
Jan and I had a tour of East Anglia, with tent, pencilled in for next week, but decided to book self-catering accommodation in Pembs (Mathry, between Fishguard & St. David's). I think we will be walking, cycling and possible doing a bit of swimming.

If you're driving there you'd be very welcome to pop in for a cuppa on the way.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Very lumpy around there, some tough steepish climbs. I was there last year for a week and again a couple of weeks ago on the way to Ireland.

Thanks, Basil. We had it in mind that we could possibly come and see you at some stage. I'm pretty sure our route over will be along the M4 and staying south (>300 miles in one day is beyond my comfort zone), but if you are around for a day during the weekend meeting you for a ride and/or a meal somewhere would definitely be favourable.

Welcome to pop in here if you fancy a mid-way stop for coffee and electronz. About 5 miles off the M4.

Several options.  We have spare double room, but I understand that a stopover takes a day out of your destination experience.

Complication.  Mrs B has just driven up to Co Durham today due to advice that her dad may be be on his final flight path.  So keep in touch.  My future plans are uncertain.

What is this 'ride' of which you speak?   ???  :-[

It's a way to get to the pub that's slightly faster than walking...

An excellent trip to Skomer Island yesterday, where we saw, amongst other species, many thousands of puffins. Sadly, Jan's reaction today was a massive migraine. While she slept it off I used the time profitably by visiting Basil at his lovely old house in Llandysul. We had a good natter, a decent lunch in a café, a dog walk around the park and a loaded some top quality Welsh electrons into the car.

Probably not actually.  As Wowbagger now knows, the pub is several of metres away.  By the time I'd got the bike out, I could have walked there and be well into a pint.
