She's had to endure a lot of nasty rumours over the last few years, great to have her back. Definitely one of cycling's more interesting characters.

Fantastic news.  She is a very inspirational lady.

The bottom half of the internet is usually a horrible place, but it's so heartwarming to see this unanimous support:

It is good to see her back. However

It’s a fairly ridiculous situation that there are no prominent gay people in the mainstream sports

Tom Daily,  Claire Balding might be slightly irritated by that statement as well.

Phillippa's consciousness of sport is probably fairly narrowly focused on the cycling world.

Good comments about greater acceptance and understanding. Part of what I bang on about here: this isn't such a bad country, overall.

Even if you don't consider diving to be a "mainstream" sport, there are all the out ladies at the top level in football, tennis, cricket and hockey, plus Gareth Thomas who came out while playing top flight rugbi, and Nigel Owens who might be the best ref in world rugbi.
I've pleased to see that all the BTL stuff I've seen on any of the news items about Philippa has been positive however - gives one hope in society. :)

Gareth Thomas came out after retiring iirc. Another one where there were persistent rumours for years which he somehow managed to deflect.

TBH I don't think cycling is a mainstream sport either.
