Excellent.

Disappointing that Mrs Vince is otherwise engaged but 1 out of 2 isn't that bad.     8)

I remain hopeful of some Long Itch newbies so dust off your gents folks and oil those chains ...

Had a call from our host yesterday afternoon which lead to my confirming that Apollo and Cycleman will be there.   In attendance also will be my legal mentor who is trying a bit of lightweight camping for the very first time I believe.

Only Kim. As you'd expect, obvx.
This is all apparently compensated for by the hot and cold running BEER.

I am hoping to make a cameo appearance on Friday evening. Depending on circumstances, I'll be on one of two electric bikes. If it's the Orbit, I'll happily let folk have a go on it. If it's the Oxygen, I'll be a little more cagey; not that I don't trust folk, it's that the battery is a little creaky and it might struggle to make the return journey to Warwick.

The circumstances are that it doesn't currently have a battery! The Oxygen is much more fun :)

That will be a pity.  A lot of the regulars seem to be absent this year.   :(

The fist signs of the medium range weather forecast look promising.  Not too hot, dry and not dipping too low at night.  Should make for a pleasant weekend.

Looking forward to it.

I'm really looking forward to the first camping of the year.  Lovely and sunny in Warwickshire today.

Looking through my old photos from earlier years, here was YACF encampment last May ...

Me TAAW.  I've not had much luck with previous attempts at camping this year, so I fully expect to be struck by lightning or develop a rare tropical disease or something by the end of the week.

A bit too sunny, really, as Polar Bear will doubtless agree.  I like a bit of cloud cover with my cycling.

Look on the bright side, it's drying out some important mud.

I'd rather look on the dull side...

We're going cycling tomorrow and the temperatures are forecast to reach 22oc accompanied by a virtually cloudless day.  I have mixed feelings about it.   :-\   Last year I managed head stroke on a similar day but I have found that hydration tabs help significantly.

I was out today and my digestive system did that thing where everything just sat in my stomach and I got progressively more bonked and dehydrated.  Not sure if it's the heat, or just a lack of cycling fitness causing it to forget its audax training.  On the plus side, I managed not to get sunburned.

I suspect tomorrow's plan will be an evening ride, or a short pootle with barakta.

Planning to stop whining, well maybe just reduce it a bit, and get there next week. Intending to meet Chris there on Thursday afternoon/evening and stay on to Sunday. Looking forward to it, also scared of "An Adventure" after a few weeks hiding behind the sofa with Sufquan Opiates!

Ah, PD.   Excellent stuff!   Will be great to see you again.

I'm guessing that Apollo is not allowed cake for dietary reasons.  Knowing Chris, there will be an extra stick of celery for the lad to look forward to!   :D
