Does anybody know anything about coins?
« on: 13 May, 2018, 05:36:46 pm »
I have a 2016 Peter Rabbit 50p coin. I very nearly just spent it in Sainsbury's, but I decided to keep it and google it as I'd not seen one before.

Turns out one sold for over 5 large not long ago! Looking on ebay, they seem to range from just a couple of quid, to maybe 500 and up to 3 or 4 grand.

Mine seems to have everything that the more pricey ones have: 11 whiskers (one of them only half a whisker), paws facing inwards and being minted in 2016.

Anyway, I really don't know whether it's worth a few quid, a few grand or just 50p.

How do I find out for sure?
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

I've quite a few different 50p's, not because I expect to get rich, but because it's quite fun looking for them.

This site has a lot of info, and worth checking out the rarity checker tab,   Now if you get a kew Gardens one it might be worth a bit!!!

I'm guessing it's probably only worth 50p! I just don't get why some are being advertised for so much without actually saying anything about them other than "Rare".

Either way, I'll keep it just in case...

I'll swap it for my 1933 penny.
It is simpler than it looks.

Chancers mostly, I reckon!  although some of the rarer ones go for a fiver on Ebay, most go for so little over face value it cant be worth the effort.
