Re a faulty Pentax P80 digital compact camera - worth practically nothing, but I'd like to give it away, preferably with the fault fixed. Problem is, it loses all its settings once the battery gets low or is removed, including the date and time.
What can I try?
I've taken it apart but couldn't find a button/coin cell (and got an electric shock from the flash capacitor, giving a strange mixture of amusement and pain), but I might not have noticed a battery looking like another component. Might it use a capacitor instead of backup battery?
