Bad news: I have received a ten year award from Megacorp

Good news: At least I didn't have to meet my manager or anything like that, all I had to do was open the door and the postie put the biro in my hand.

10 years service, and all they gave you was a lousy biro?

Don't knock it. 22 years in the MoD and I still have to steal them.

You can afford biros in your part of the public service?  I said the Defence budget was OTT!

Now pharmaceutical companies are not allowed to give away stationery, it's placed a heavy burden on our budgets.

fwiw, and before Regulator steps in, our prescribing patterns have not changed as a result, proving how inept most advertising is.
Getting there...

I can remember a time when MOD used to buy biro refills in silver tubes containing 25.

Good news!! The problem with my Karcher pressure washer was not  terminal as a result of frost, instead it was caused by a dodgy Hozelock stop valve connector, not opening fully on the Karcher connector (but opening OK on the Hozelock nozzle)

Bad news! I only found this out when the exact same problem surfaced on the brand new pressure washer I bought to replace it.

Maybe good news for someone: Anyone interested in buying a Karcher K3.90 in good working order? (will go on eBay in a week or so)

Bad news: I have received a ten year award from Megacorp

Good news: At least I didn't have to meet my manager or anything like that, all I had to do was open the door and the postie put the biro in my hand.

Good news: Well done (for avoiding your manager). For mine I was called in to a meeting room in one of those "have you got a minute?" things that can often quickly become bad news; luckily not.

Bad news 1: My 15 years at Megacorp comes up next year (it should really have been last year but they don't count the time they 'employed' me whilst I was a student).

Bad news 2: The pen will also appear on your P11D. Joy.

BN: I was in the office half an hour early and only got half an hour's lunch because of a ton of Important Time-Critical Stuff which isn't actually my job.

GN: I didn't mind doing it, and now i'm sloping off at 4 instead of 5 for a cheeky spin on the bike. Happy days!

Good: I am about to collect my repaired frame painted in club colours. Pink, White and Blue.
Bad: Four weeks ago the club decided to return to its 1927 colour scheme. Black & White with a red dragon on the collar.

GN: They're resurfacing Mill Lane in Acaster Malbis, at last! (It was a horrible, crater-strewn surface.)

BN: They haven't finished yet. Riding over the exposed ironwork wasn't particularly pleasant.

BN: I lost a library book.
GN: It's been found.
BN: I'll have to pay for it to be posted to me.
GN: Then I'll be able to finish reading it - and in the meantime I can finish the other books due back soon!

Bad news: I arrived at my hotel to be told I wasn't expected until tomorrow.

Good news: they have a room anyway!

That is why I prefer to make my own reservations, that and the fact that the office books me out to save £30 ignoring the fact if I have to go to Gatwick that means an extra night in a hotel and a longer drive

Good! After a couple of years of not being able to play due to a lack of local teams, I've finally found a (fledgling) ultimate frisbee group in Swindonia.

Bad! I went down to chuck a few discs around with them last night, and twisted my knee. Owwww.

Bad: both my calves have painful & madly itchy insect bites, acquired while cycling through South Oxfordshire last nght.

Good: the anti-histamine cream I bought this afternoon is working. Bliss!
