I got 4 all by guesswork.

So I’m the best guesser so far :) Yay! For me

I didn't recognise any faces but I got 6 by a mixture of picking the name I'd heard of and a bit of random luck.

I got 1, which is sub-random, and that was Jess Gwynne. I have no idea who she is, but I have the power to automatically detect people called Jess. Honestly, I can look out the window and spot any passing Jesses.

5 by guessing. I think I may have used some of the names more than once.

Any connection between Boris & No. 10 has got to be illegitimate.

I'm going in. This could be... random.

Edit: 2/15. I don't think I had heard of any of them. And in answer to the question accopanying that score "Did you stop listening to music in 1982?" I think the answer has to be "Fuck off! You don't know what music is!"

I don't know if anyone watched University Challenge on Monday night but it was so funny watching Paxo go ballistic when faced with very stupid answers to the music questions! The students had no clue!

I got fewer than Wow, that's impressive. I have heard of many of them, just never seen their mugshots.

ObOldPerson, but god, music is getting a bit dull. Gerry Cinnamon, Sam Fender et al. they're achingly dull and anodyne, make Oasis seem cutting edge.

Totally OT but, on the same programme, did anyone notice that the answer to some obscure question about Soviet nuclear power was "tokamak". Anyone here remember him? Nice guy, he bought my Dave Yates audax bike a few years ago.

Trevor Nelson, the DJ quoted, is 55 years old, and presents the 10 pm slot on Radio 2 from Monday to Friday. His show is mainly music of black origin, although he played Joni Mitchell's 'Big Yellow Taxi' last night.

That reminded me of the 'reaction' videos on Youtube. In those we see the response of those who've never encountered the 'classics' of popular music. A typical one is of an Indian couple listening to Joni Mitchell's 'Both Sides Now'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhCz60t5ld4  In that one 'Both Sides Now' is compared to 'Only Words' by Extreme.

3.  Though I probably lose points for having seen Sam Fender live – he was bottom of the bill at last month's Young/Dylan show.

Does that make you a big Jessie?  :-D

I managed to get all four of the Jess Gwynne, Anne Marie and the other two women's names I forget questions wrong.

7/15 - 6 guesses though I did know who Dua Lipa is.

Meh, course I don't know who they are.  I wonder how all these youngsters would do on a quiz like this in 30 years time (which is about how far I am removed from giving a shit about the current music scene).
