Home and happy, despite a minor spill on an icy path in Camperdown Park. We stuck to the road after that - nearly 10yo doing a good job in traffic.

That's fab :)
EldestCub decorated his other Auntie's tree, round at Granny and Grandad's house.

And then we went and bought ours, which will probably get done tomorrow. If I can work out where to keep the mtb and trailerbike to make space for it....

This photo especially makes me quite nostalgic for the Polish forest round FiL's place. Only the logged trees look different - darker, I'm not sure if they are a different species (most there are Scots pine, spruce and larch) or perhaps they have been stored there for longer - in Poland they are normally felled in late summer and carted off pretty quickly.
 for the whole expedition.

We had two small children to look after yesterday morning. They put the tree up and made us smile.

We haven't bothered and I doubt if the other two will have the appetite for a tree because it's a PITA. Our grand-daughter won't be coming here over Christmas - we will be going there on Boxing Day - but if she were I'd make some effort.
A splendid effort by David Martin. Your son's coat makes it look as though it's snowing.

Room for more bikes, innit.

Damn. That tree we lugged home is far too good quality. It is more like an upright, rather dense conical hedge. Next year I will get one 2ft shorter and stand it on a table..

This is from a couple of weeks ago. As we're not going to visit family at Xmas, other half decided she wanted a real Xmas. So went off to get a tree. Cue me carrying a 9ft tree, 1 mile through London to save on a £15 delivery charge. Scrooge lives!
The tree was only 20kg, what made it really tiring was that the streets were so crowded, I had to carry it upright in a bear hug, all the way.

That's an access road round the back of Westfield, so was the only quiet bit of the route. Essentially I then walked through London's premier shopping centre carrying a giant tree, then had a stroll down Uxbridge Road.
Tree post fettling. I wanted tinsel on the tree, but apparently it's not aesthetically pleasing

We've no room for a tree, so just get 'bits'.

and then do this:

Festivity without a footprint.

Ah, the computer science approach. Root at the top, leaves at the bottom.

Hmmm.. rides bikes, bakes cake, has a healthy sense of the ridiculous and plenty of spirit of adventure, swears like a trooper, remarkably good at putting stuff in perspective, makes me laugh like a drain...
Y'know what fboab? If I didn't quite like the one I've got and I wasn't the best part of 20 years too old, I'd be quite happy for you to be my mum :)

No, that was my D7000 with a nifty fifty stopped down to "very sharp indeedy". Problem was, we had to snog for three seconds whilst we waited for the shutter to close again!

My club's entry for the Christmas tree festival at a local church (got second place I believe). I can claim no credit for this:

Our tree is nothing special, but I thought this thread would be the most appropriate place to post this:
