Here at chez Pingu, a not bad wee Gewurtztraminer, mmm...lychees. Not something we drink all the time, but it makes a change from sauv blanc.
I love Gewurztraminer. Well, no... actually I love
saying Gewurztraminer. It rolls off the tongue so nicely. I also quite like saying Trockenbeerenauslese - more than I enjoy drinking the stuff.
To be fair, a decent Gewurztraminer can be very pleasant when paired with the right food.
Anyway, I am currently drinking a bottle of
Hopdaemon Skrimshander, having earlier enjoyed a bottle of
Weihenstephan Hefeweiss. Very pleasant.
Having spent most of the afternoon/early evening building kitchen cupboards then cooking the family meal, I feel I have earned these treats.
