Dearest wife, you’re 5’ 4” tall, and our bed is 6’ 6” long. How is it, then, that you end up with your head as far up the bed as it can possibly go, the duvet up to your nose, and 6” at the bottom of the bed - where my feet happen to be - bereft of duvet coverage  >:(
I find that when Dr Beardy does this, not only are my feet uncovered, but I can’t breath because the duvet is too far up the bed. Almost as bad is when she migrates to the bottom of the bed and takes the duvet with her so I’m exposed from mid-chest up.

Our double bed is 4'6" wide. The king size duvet it 7'6" wide. Come winter, there'll be no duvet width left for me but The Man will moan if I grab the cover...

I feel compelled to point out that barakta and I are compatible sizes and have reasonably harmonious duvet habits.  We did molish a bed in a size the FOREIGNS use, for extra elbow room without excess length.

Single beds are the future.  Especially if they are in different rooms.

You share a duvet.....blimey,  :o

For the 30 odd....and yes, some of them have been very odd, years that CBH and I have shared a bed, we have always had a duvet each. That way, there are no fights over coverage etc.

It also allows me to have my 3 tog cover whereas even when people from Arizona think its a tad warm, she can stick to her 10.5 one!

And they call us the strange couple.....  ;D  ;D ;D

Same here.  We have a crafty double sided duvet that has a 4 tog for me, 25million for her. I'm still sleeping under just a sheet at the moment

Fucking Greek restaurant in geeraardsbergen, pleas out a bfo sign on your door saying you don't take credit cards, so people know that BEFORE they have finished their meals.  I now have to piss about with with an expense claim for cash euros and the bank fee.

Went to see a physio today about my back. One of the questions he asked is whether I fall over to which I replied no as I am reasonably stable on my pins..... until this afternoon that is when walking along the tow path of the canal in Newport I slipped and fell onto my right knee and hip causing considerable pain and a nice piece of "towpath rash."

That will teach me to be over confident!

We have a drying room at work. Heated and with a dehumidifier. Fantastic.

A large department regularly has a major planning jamboree, which involves them taking over the canteen, most of the meeting rooms and holding a party in the office in the evening. This goes on for 3 days.

Last night I packed up, went to get my kit out of the drying room; and it was freezing cold. Aircon blowing a howling gale of refrigerated air. WTF?

I loudly wonder what is going on, just as a partying person wanders in;
"Oh we couldn't fit the drinks in the fridge, so they put them in here and turned the cooling up to keep our drinks cool."

I don't think she liked my reply.

Bosch washing machine takes off when going to warp factor 5 spin.
Web based research suggests the shock absorbers are knackered.
Further web based research finds replacements for around fifty notes.
Gulp, bite bullet, press the button.
A several of days a later a package arrives.
Eagerly I rip it open.
It contains one shock absorber.
Arse.
Get ready to whinge at supplier for only fulfilling the order in a half arsed way.
Read website more. Fifty notes is for one.
Who would want to fit only one shock absorber to anything when the full complement is two?

Seems fair.  If we accept JPEG artefacts like that, it's a slippery slope all the way to wobbly portrait video of landscape screens.

Bloody hell.  Llandysul is full of people who have been drinking since 8 o'clock this morning.  Funny at first but mildly irritating now.  I'd best go home before it all kicks off.

I'm interested in buying something. Person x else wants to sell thing.
Great.
We check and discover that we both have same weekend free. I can come and take a shufti at thing this weekend.

Arrange my life to have car, roofrack etc for this weekend. Message Person x to arrange time and day.

<tumbleweed>

They are 60 miles away. They have been trying to sell thing for 2 months. This is the only weekend for weeks when I will have car and time. FFS.

It's still a couple of days until the weekend ...

Depending on the tenor of the previous conversations, if I were the seller and the weekend had been agreed, I wouldn't necessarily be too bothered about narrowing down a time until Friday (or maybe even Saturday morning), at least as long as I was able to be flexible.

Sure, if I could only make a particular two hour slot on Saturday night and an hour at lunchtime on Sunday I'd have been keen to check that one of those worked for you, but if I knew I was going to be around all day I'd probably be happy with leaving you to give me a call before leaving, to see if I would be around in a couple of hours time.

I do realise some people might feel I'm a little lackadaisical ...
