Offered for free! G3 iMac (blueberry) + G5 tower
« on: 17 October, 2019, 11:29:08 am »
Collection only from the bottom of Snowdon (that’s in Wales ;))

G3 (blueberry) iMac with keyboard and mouse. Was running last time I used it. No discs.

G5 tower, no hard drive, very dusty. Was working ok before I removed the hard drive (unable to erase it as have no monitor now)

Of use to anyone?

Is the G5 the aluminium tower one?

Yep, it replaced a Plastic G4 tower - I thought all G5s were aluminium?

Also it occurs to me, when I get my 2017 iMac back from warranty repair, I could Ethernet the G5 and iMac together and then wipe the G5 hard drive via Disk Utility - so the G5’s original 160Gb hard drive could be included?

Just a thought

But I suppose it would help if I can find the original Install discs too  ::-)

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Still available.

G5 is twin 1.8GHz - and was up and running yesterday, despite its internal fluff. Presumably I could just wipe the Home folder and leave the system and original hard drive intact? Still haven’t found the installation disks  :(

Seems a shame to go to the tip with them  :(
