Hummers, that is an image that will haunt me for some time - thanks  ;D

Anyhow, back to ferries and bikes, both of which I love.

The Bawdsey to Flexistowe Ferry, the bike is Tina the Tandem.  We rode with Pixieannie of this parish.  The ferry was small, expensive and the ferryman grumpy ...

The Burnham on Crouch to Creeksea ferry.  The bike is Son of Oscar and I think the boat was the relief ferry as it wasn't very big ...

Waiting to board the Reedham Ferry with Tomsk, chief and Oaky on our California ride.  You can just see Claud, my bike, behind Tomsk ...

Claud on the Brightlingsea to East Mersea ferry.  I got unceremoniously dumped on a shingley beach ...

Tomsk and I wait ...

... for the Princess Pocahontas that would ferry us from Tilbury to Gravesend on our County Bumpkins go to London ride ...

On the ferry from Ardnamurchan to Mull.

And on the Renfrew ferry, which seems to get smaller and smaller every time we use it.

Yeah, last time we went with Andrij, we were led down to the lower deck. I'm sure the first time I went on the main deck. Having said that there was only one in operation and it was heaving, so I can understand that they'd want to keep the top car-only.

The Ichenor Ferry

The ferry man asked us if we wanted the short trip or the long one.  We took the long one and had a tour round Chichester Harbour while he picked up various people off moored boats.

Don't show those photos to Kim.  She's still getting nightmares about that model of tandem.  See here.

Somehow I forgot to get the bike in the picture. I amy have one somewhere with the bike in.

It was on this ferry;

which takes two cars on a turntable. You drive on, the turntable spins as the ferry crosses, and then you drive off.
