BaseCamp has just upgraded to 4.0.1.0

Thought folks would like to know so they can spend the weekend finding what has been broken :)

Its been available for a couple of weeks now.
It all seems to work fine for me. Except for not starting as a maximised window each time, even if it was maximised when I closed it.

Oops, sorry, last time I turned on BC must be longer ago than I thought.

Everything seemed to be broken in the new mac version! - it kept crashing while trying to read the maps on my apple (OSX 10.8.2)  :( so I deleted it and went back to 3.3.2.0 from the backup... will probably give it another go when the bug fixes appear in 4.0.1.1

Version 4.0.2 is now available, it fixes quite a few of the bugs.

I've been having trouble getting Basecamp v4.1.x to open .gdb files, whether old ones created in Mapsource or new ones created in this version of BC.

It seems that there is a known issue with the version of BC that is currently available in the App Store.

The problem is described here:

While the update makes its way to the App Store, rather than faff about as above there is a beta for download from Garmin that I've just tried out successfully:
