TV sound interference
« on: 04 June, 2008, 02:53:52 pm »
this is sometihng I've been meaning to sort out for a while........I have a Humax PVR cabled to a JVC CRT widescreen TV.  It all works fine except I get interference on the sound ( a buzzing sound) whenever the picture diaplated on the TV contains alot of white / pale colours...i.e. it seems as if the video signal is interefing with the audio at these times.  any ideas?

Has this started happening recently or always done it.  Does it make the noise from other sources or just the PVR?

I would guess crosstalk inside the scart cable.

You could test this by connecting the audio/video out on the yellow/red/white phono connectors inestead. Or just connect the red/white audio to an amplifier to check it.

If it is the scart lead, buying a fully screened one will probably sort it out.

thanks for the feedback .....I'll check out the SCART lead and see if it makes a difference.

Out of interest, I have a Humax PVR and a JVC CRT and don't get the interference you describe.
