Big Cycle Weekend (BCW) is a collaboration between Cycle Derby, Cyclemagic, CTC Cycle Champions, Derby Cycle Group and several other local organisations.
Cycle Derby and Cyclemagic have hosted numerous events together in Derby over the past few years and BCW is a development of last year’s highly successful Big Cycle Day Out.
This
FREE weekend will include lots of family cycling activities aimed at the local community plus, from Cyclemagic, ther'll be cycling history, a big tryout, special needs cycling and loads of silliness from the likes of Wobbly John(hopefully).
There will also be BMX stuff Bike Polo and the Five Parks Ride around Derby on the Sunday to be started by Nigel Clough.
Camping will be available just a couple of miles away.
If we can make a big splash with this event it has every chance of becoming a large annual festival. Cyclemagic’s long term aim is to re-launch their Spokesfest Human Powered Vehicle Festival and bring in pedal car racing, aeroplanes, boats and everything else we had in Leicester.
The Cycle Chat Posse are making it the venue for their annual shindig
