Tour de Tendring: Felixstowe-Harwich ferry
« on: 01 April, 2010, 08:54:20 pm »
I have family in Felixstowe and I'm thinking of riding the Tour de Tendring this year (16 May). I have enquired about booking the Felixstowe-Harwich ferry, and this would be available if I can get a group of riders together. We would depart Felixstowe viewing point around 8.30 a.m., and we could get a return ferry at 2.50 p.m. (where there's a window in the scheduled timetable to allow an extra run). With a 9 a.m. start time for the 50 mile ride, this should allow most riders plenty of time to finish comfortably within time.

The total cost is £35 each way, and the ferry has a capacity of 12 (with bikes), so the cost per head could be as little as £5.83 per head return. At the moment I have 4 riders who may be interested, but I'm looking for more to make the ferry hire worthwhile.

Anyone who would like to register an interest (no commitment at this stage) can contact me direct by pm/email via this forum.
