what's the LX L2B?

I've just ridden home via Sunday's London to Brighton route as far as Smallfield and I noticed that somebody has attached little laminated "LX L2B" arrow signs along the important junctions on the route;

they went off route at about Outwood and I never saw them again as I left the official route to go home

is it a FNRTTC type thing? or just a pre-27k+ riders alternative?

I had a friend who used to do it with a group the week after as the BHF signs were still up; it seems these days they are up and down in a flash; only the yellow traffic warning signs are currently up. Living a couple of miles from the route and often using the Turners Hill to Lindfield road I see varying sized groups of riders making the pilgrimage most weekends.
