[HAMR] Jan 7th
« on: 07 January, 2015, 06:19:09 am »
Good morning Steve! The tracker fired up at 05:35:03 AM: starting to see a pattern emerge. Although it was a slightly shorter break last night, you still got over 9 hours.

Early signs are you are heading south-westish. Looks like a warmer day today with wind picking up from the south west later.

Have a good day's riding!

There's no frost over here in Ceredigion, he should come this way.

Yup. Bit of a stormy few days to come - will be tough going.

I guess that's all relative. I read some of the reports from the audax that Blacksheep ran over the weekend, quite some epic tales. Steve appears completely unphased by similar conditions (ok, maybe it wasn't quite as wet over here in Bucks, but it wasn't pleasant)

Where are you at present? North Wales, Ullapool?
It's only been 10-15 mph SSW here so far, though it looks like it will get up to 30 later.

In Steve's shoes, I'd have headed for Newbury again, to get an outward leg into relatively light wind, and a tailwind heading back home when the wind & rain arrives.

Looks like Steve's spending today drawing a flower around Buckingham on the tracker, which is centered nice and close to home should the weather become horrid.

At some point psychoanalysts should take a download of Steve's Strava track and use it for their Rorshach tests.

There has already been requests from YACFers for a CDC track.

Does anbody reckon that Steve is 'standing on a corner in Winslow' (not Arizona) or just having a late lunch?

Definitely not a day to be riding south; I nearly got blown to a standstill on my way home this lunchtime.

Looks like he's not having a such great day today, speeds are looking quite low compared with previous, and it's not that windy around here (Bucks) at the moment. Maybe he's staying close to home just in case.

He appears to be pretty much going around in circles. May be he's having a bad day. It would hardly be surprising after the weeks endeavours - especially given the weather conditions.

Or perhaps he's set himself a secondary challenge of cycling down every road in Buckinghamshire.

I'd be surprised if he hadn't already done that. When I zoomed in towards his most recent stop the map showed "Cake Expectations" a home cake maker, so perhaps Steve was lured in for some product testing.

7.05pm, just rolled in from work - has he finished for the day - tracker page looks to be unclear at the moment.
