A PAIR of drunk cyclists wearing Santa hats were caught on the motorway today.

I can't make out their Santa hats, but hey at least they weren't bare headed!
Forumites, of course, would never do a thing like this, would they? (There's a Yehuda Moon cartoon that's relevant here but I can't find it... )

A friend and I rode the on-ramp and SB M5 hardshoulder when we couldn't find the Avonmouth Bridge bikepath during our JOGLE02. Luckily the bikepath was on our side of the bridge once we were actually on it and we could chuck our bikes over the fence and scamper over it ourselves before the rozzers turned up. The statute of limitations has expired by now, right?

The access to that cycle path can be hard to find if you're not familiar with it. It's actually on the road parallel to the Portway not the Portway itself. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.495918,-2.6843732,3a,75y,270h,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sUq8pmTpa9grfBlGik16vkA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
You don't say if you were wearing a silly hat! :D

It was kind of silly trying to find the bikepath, riding all round the houses a little after midnight. There was a bit of headwind during that trip.

About thirty years ago I saw a full-on roadie going at it hammer-and-tongs up the northbound M5 just south of Mordor. Not far behind was a slow-moving Belgian-registered camper van, which led me to suspect an off-course excursion on a LEJOG.
-
Is it worth noting that substantial sections of the M5 are currently restricted to 30mph?
No?
Thought not.

Speed limits don't apply to bicycles so that didn't slow them down. ;D
