Useful page, I'd go with his first point of getting used to the "access all areas" menu as your main point of reference.
My preference is to shoot in RAW+jpg fine all the time, then you really don't have to worry about most of the myriad settings he gets into, you can always post-process the RAW as if you had the right setting from the start. The only thing I'd add is that you then need to have photo management that effectively copes with having a RAW+sidecar file, my preference through long term usage is Adobe Lightroom (NOT the "cloud" version) but that has a cost attached, especially as I don't think you can buy a one off license any more (but I may be wrong). There are likely other options, too.
