 I'll be able to do a Norf Essex route to the pub for a change! And a nice easy 7 miles home.

Hmmm.

An 85K ride before a 400 on Saturday - not sure if I'll be out on Wednesday......

But it might be PBP training.....

How to you get to 85K? It's 35-37K from your's to GB isn't it?  ???

I was pondering a cheeky DIY 200 to get some squares but looks like it's new Carradice day tomorrow - so will have to put that off to later in the week and ride out in a sort of directish route for dinner there.  If Carradice deliver earlier I'll maybe get some Cambridge squares in

I've got half a plan brewing to get some squares over near Linton - nothing firm yet and a fair bit of COR around a transmitter site!

Sharon is looking forward to seeing us tonight at The Bell.  No food on I'm afraid but there is a co-op in the village however it closes at 9PM.

I'm going to try and join you for a bit of the ride from spa but don't wait as there is a fair chance real life might intervene

Them that weren't there missed a real treat, we were treated like royalty by Sharon - 2 hand pumps on of Bish Nick and a draft Pale Ale (Meantime) plus two large bowls of bar snacks.  Certainly one for the future runs out I think.

Greetings from French France, I trust I find you all well. Something you might like to have a think about...

On Wednesday 26th August 2009 the first MEMWNS ride took place to the White Hart, Margaretting Tye. Suffice to say, having pinched the idea from the chaps down in Portsmouth and sold it to the Mid-Essex yacf members I wasn’t present, I was in France!

Anyhow, I’m hoping that you splendid people will be able to mark our 10th anniversary in suitable style. Feel free to scroll back to the earliest pages of this thread for a trip down memory lane. I’m delighted I’m not the only person still around from back then and it’s heartwarming to consider how many folks we’ve scooped up along the way.

26th August is Bank Holiday Monday - I'll be helping at the Countess of Warwick's Show in Lt Easton ... and trying to skive off for more post-PBP recovery time. The Wednesday after for an anniversary meeting?

Where tomorrow? I'm aiming to start early and get a mid-week 'training' ride in.

I’m on a ferry tomorrow evening, but looking for a venue ‘within range’ on 24th so I can enthrall attendees with stories of daring adventure.

Will be good to see you.

Are you going to tell us about your B and B walking holiday as well?

I suppose that means a long trek east for me tomorrow though ...? Ah well, last week was very civilised, only the Three Horseshoes at Duton Hill and maybe the Axe and Compasses at Aythorpe Roding has been nearer home. Apart from: when are we going to the Boar's Head in Dunmow?

For the record, it’s called ‘hike-a-bike’, and I didn’t have breakfast anywhere that I stayed that wasn’t under canvas (or whatever the modern fabric equivalent is). I did make my own breakfast at ungodly hours ... 3am this morning before I headed out for the final stretch.

Could be a prompt for a guest speaker at the ACME Awards Accolade??

I can't believe I got the wrong idea!

Of course, you've been properly intrepid (and ungodly!) I never doubted that.

I'm looking forward to you telling us about it tomorrow

Last year - Chequers Great Tey
Year before  - Queens Head, Maldon

Looks to be a warm night - somewhere in the countryside might be nice - Great Tey might work? Or Maldon?

The Maltsers is often a popular choice.
Or the King's Head in Tollesbury?
Or
A spoons to help the curry fund?

Witham's very own Battesford Court, and since it's not the Winter Series we could actually sit out in the beer garden ...?

I don’t think we’ve been to the King Billy for a while. Is the Layer Fox still open? Nit been there for ages.
